Two photographic positions that use contradictory strategies for themselves and yet pursue the same goal: questioning one’s own medium.

The work of Sara-Lena Maierhofer focuses on the relationship between fiction and documentation. The artist merges these two modes into one. In addition to documentary photographs, which she takes from archives or online platforms, she sets staged images. Photography no longer remains just an image, but moves or becomes three-dimensional. Conrad Müller’s works, on the other hand, look for tensions in the flatness of the surface. By creating both digital and analog images, figurative as well as abstract, Müller demonstrates that the oscillation between the different formats of photography does not lead to a blurring of the individual forms, but to a new shaping.
